“Salvation”, released on September 1, 1997, was Alphaville’s fifth studio album and initiated a new phase in their musical development. It was the first Alphaville album without Ricky Echolette and the last with Bernhard Lloyd, who left the band in 2003. The album featured the singles “Wishful Thinking” and “Flame”. It was produced by Andy Richards and, unlike its predecessors, was mainly recorded at London’s Eden Studios, with further recordings taking place at Metropolis Studios and Stone Room Studios. Mixing also took place at these three studios as well as at Nucleus Recording Studio.“Salvation (2023 Remaster)” is released for the first time on vinyl as a limited trifold 2-LP on 180g vinyl. It contains the original album (remastered) and 4 remixes on vinyl 2 (side B). It also contains a 20-page booklet with essays / liner notes by Marian Gold and Bernhard Lloyd and many previously unpublished photos.
